DR’s Spanish Students Go International!

Students Attend and Partake In An Iberian Dance Show and Visit The World’s Most Famous Landmarks
DR’s Spanish Students Go International!

DR’s foreign language program gives students an opportunity to learn and understand a new language while immersing themselves in various cultures. The teachers incorporate fun activities to help students retain information while giving them opportunities to learn more about language and culture outside of the classroom.

This past November, students in Spanish class had the opportunity to attend a Latin Iberian dance show. The show revolved around educating the audience on different genres of music and dance native to Central and South America, as well as Spain. The performers wore traditional clothing from the regions and put on an entertaining show that captivated students while also teaching them about Hispanic culture. At the end of the show, two students from DR had the opportunity to join the performers onstage and dance alongside them. After the show, they indulged in authentic Mexican cuisine at the El Mariachi restaurant. The Spanish program has done this field trip in the past, and students look forward to it every year.

More recently, in February, 40 foreign language students and teachers at DR had the chance to travel abroad to England, France, and Italy. Students were ecstatic to be presented with the opportunity to immerse themselves in other cultures and learn their history. Some highlights of the trip include walking the Downtown Abbey, riding the London Eye, trying fresh foods at the Borough Market, visiting the Louvre Museum, cruising the Seine River, and seeing the Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, and Vatican City. The students regarded this trip as an unforgettable experience, and their tour guides applauded them for their manners and respect.

The foreign language program hosts a trip abroad yearly, and Ms. Keane is taking students to Portugal, Spain, and Italy in April 2027. She is looking forward to taking another fantastic group of students on a trip of a lifetime! Click this link if you are interested: http://www.eftours.com/2937425FM.
