The DR Girls’ Tennis team is made up of inspiring student athletes, with each player bringing their own unique skills to the courts. Together the team creates a strong, welcoming, and fun environment, encouraging teamwork and connection throughout the season.
For the 2026 spring season, the team holds 17 girls. The team is coached by Coach Burnham, and this year’s captains are seniors Catherine Bredemeier, Cailee Leonard, and Mia Saviolakis.

Freshmen – Olivia Eckman, Vanessa Escobar, Elyana Fonseca
The 7 starters fill the spots for first, second, and third singles and first and second doubles. For Dighton-Rehoboth, senior captain Mia Saviolakis plays first singles, senior captain Cailee Leonard plays second singles, and junior Addison Hoyle plays third singles. Senior captain Catherine Bredemeier and junior Aubrey Harris play first doubles, and seniors Laura Cruz and Isabella Pettine play second doubles.
Last season, in spring 2025, the team held 14 girls. Former senior captains Olivia Visinho and Emma Mullen strongly lead the team.
Emma Mullen played first singles, Mia Saviolakis played second singles, Addison Hoyle played third singles, Aubrey Harris and Cailee Leonard played first doubles, and Olivia Visinho and Catherine Bredemeier played second doubles.

Last season, the team ended with a 4 wins and 8 losses record. The most notable match was near the end of the season on May 15th, 2025, when Dighton Rehoboth brought home a 4-1 win against West Bridgewater. Other wins for the 2025 season include a 3-2 win against Joseph Case, a 3-2 win against Seekonk, and a 3-2 win against Fairhaven.

For the 2026 girls’ tennis season, the team has high hopes. They hope to beat last year’s record and keep up the positive energy that embodies the team.
In order to prepare for the season, the team practices hard daily on the DR courts. Whether it be drills, practice matches, or fun games, the team continues to work hard on improving their play. Sometimes, joint practices are held with the boys’ team for more practice and variety in match play.
Senior captain Mia Saviolakis plays first singles for Dighton-Rehoboth and has been a part of the team since freshman year. She is one of the captains for the 2026 season and has worked hard throughout her tennis career, working up to the position of first singles. Mia always brings positive energy to the courts and has shared a statement about the season so far.
“We have had a really great season so far with some really rewarding wins. I am super proud of everybody on the team and the way they have been playing this season. This is definitely the best we have done in recent years, so it is really nice to see the progress of the team from when I was a freshman until now. Even from the beginning of this season, the team has progressed so much, and as a captain, it is inspiring to watch. I am really excited to see how the future goes, including the playoffs and the SCC showdown, and I am very excited to play.”
Senior captain Cailee Leonard plays second singles and has also been on the team since freshman year. Throughout her four-year tennis career, she has focused on training hard and improving her skills. This year she is a captain and team leader. Cailee has also shared a statement about the season.
“This year’s tennis season is definitely one to remember. It was filled with hard-fought matches and a tremendous amount of growth. Our starting lineup plays with determination and grit that have earned us the opportunity to make it to the playoffs. Not only that, but we also bring sportsmanship to every match, which is one of the most important aspects of a sport. As a captain, I am extremely proud of how much we have grown as teammates and friends over the past season. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season and playoffs have in store for us!”
Junior Aubrey Harris plays first doubles. She is a strong and dedicated player, always willing to work hard on improving. Aubrey brings a supportive and enthusiastic attitude to the courts, keeping the team positive and ready to play. Aubrey has shared a statement about the season.
“This season was extremely rewarding. In years past our records have not been the best; however, this year’s record is something we should be proud of. It is something we can build upon and continue to create camaraderie. We have girls who are all very hardworking and positive. For all the years I’ve been playing tennis, I think that this season has been the best overall.”
To end off the season, the team held the traditional Senior Night, playing against Fairhaven in the SCC Showdown. They won with a rewarding 5-0 score.
The 2026 DR Girls’ Tennis Team had a strong season, ending with a 10-4 record in the MIAA Girls’ Tennis Division 3 Rankings. The most notable matches were the close and competitive 3-2 wins over Somerset-Berkley and Bourne. The team also had a clean 5-0 win over Joseph Case. The last match of the season was against ORR, in which a fun first doubles team made up of juniors Addison Hoyle and Aubrey Harris were able to bring home a doubles win for DR.
Overall, the team held a strong performance for the 2026 season and will continue to put in the work and practice leading up to next season.
